You're Not a Fool, Even if You Feel Like One |

The new Carrie Underwood album, Play On, was released earlier this month and immediately sold 318,000 copies, replacing Michael Jackson’s, This is It, in the top spot.
Our family loves Carrie Underwood. Especially her new song, "Change."
What'cha gonna do with the 36 cents
Sticky with Coke on your floorboard
When a woman on the street is huddled in the cold
On a sidewalk vent trying to keep warm
Do you call her over hand her the change
Ask her a story, ask her her name
Or do you tell yourself
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
When I think of the Bible’s timeline, it’s full of “fools.” Abraham, Joseph (called “that dreamer” by people), Noah, and the disciples, just to name a few. “Fools” out there listening to God’s voice, working for Him, and trying to change the world.
Do you ever feel like a fool?
What'cha gonna do when you're watching T.V.
And an ad comes on
Yeah you know the kind
Flashin' up pictures of a child in need
For a dime a day you can save a life
Do you call the number reach out a hand
Or do you change the channel call it a scam
Or do you tell yourself
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
Do you ever tell yourself, or catch yourself thinking, “What I’m doing isn’t making a difference. I’m tired. I’m defeated this week. Why do I even do what I do?”
Oh the smallest thing can make all the difference
Love is alive
Don't listen to them when they say
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
You do what you do because God called you like Abraham, gave you a dream like Joseph, you’re sticking with it like Noah, and following like the disciples.
Don't listen to them when they say
You’re just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
Oh the smallest thing can make all the difference
Love is alive
Don't listen to them when they say
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
So don’t listen to them, even if the “them” is you. Keep listening to His voice and leading your ministry. Have a tender heart and tough skin. And keep working with all your heart knowing that “the smallest thing can make all the difference.”
And it probably is.
