Transforming Your Champions Through Prayer |
Nov 23, 2009 |
We all know about the power of prayer. We certainly believe God answers prayer. But have you ever prayed that God would transform your champions?
Scripture is full of commands to pray, the benefits of prayer and the power of prayer:
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16
“Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24
“He answered their prayers because they trusted in him.” I Chronicles 5:20
This scripture does not just refer to our personal prayer life for family, jobs, illness or life challenges. Many organizations have missed the boat when it comes to praying for their ministries and for those who come along side as champions in their cause. Or we give cursory attention by asking for prayer requests.
If you DO pray for your champions, how do you pray? That their hearts will be moved to give you a gift? That your event will have enough table hosts? Or that you get enough volunteers to distribute food baskets?
Transformational giving in the life of a champion happens as a collaboration between them and God in which He infuses their corporate and personal assets with His grace as they offer themselves in the way He asks to the people and purposes that He directs.
Let that be our prayer! That our champions would see their giving as a collaboration between them and God. That He would infuse their corporate and personal assets with His grace. That champions would offer themselves in the way He asks and that they would allow God to direct, to who and for what, their gifts should be given.
Amen!
“With God’s power working in (our champions), God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine.” Ephesians 3:20

Nov 23, 2009 at 8:33 PM Thank you for this important reminder. Understanding the importance of a foundation of prayer for any ministry, CHOSEN has had "prayer warriors" for our "Touched By Adoption" teen camps, with people praying for specific campers. God has moved in mighty ways at each of our camps, and with these high risk teens, no problems at all. It has, as well, been a way to engage many people in our ministry in a very simple way. Some of these have gone on to be donors. I love the way you have articulated the way CHOSEN can pray for their champions, and look forward to sharing this with our board.
