The Seven-Year-Old Who Out-Gave Buffett |

Olivia gave $35 to the Gates Foundation.
Jacob Harold got a lot of attention talking about a seven year-old girl who gave $35 to the Gates Foundation. He notes how people of all ages, from all walks of life, are looking for smarter giving. People like little Olivia, who gave her entire life savings of $35, want to know their giving is making an impact.
In 2006, Warren Buffett pledged forty billion to the Gates Foundations and said, “Bill is better at giving it away than I am." Buffet also said the gift ought secure a pretty good seat for him in heaven.
The last I checked, those seats were not for sale. Even if they were for sale, Olivia’s gift was far, far greater than Warren’s mountain of money. She gave all she had.
